Illinois law requires individuals holding a professional license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) to complete one hour of cultural competency training as part of the license renewal process. ICAHN’s online Cultural Competency Training provides healthcare professionals and organizations with practical education designed to support inclusive care, strengthen communication, and promote culturally responsive healthcare practices. The course is designed specifically for healthcare professionals and may be completed individually or through facility-wide participation. 

Course Topics Include:

• Maintaining a consistent standard of care across diverse cultures and populations 
• Understanding the importance of cultural competency in healthcare delivery 
• Implementing strategies that support inclusivity and culturally responsive care

Continuing Education: 

Credit Participants who successfully complete the course will receive: 1.0 Nurse Contact Hour 

Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network (ICAHN) is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by VTL Center for Professional Development, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Denter’s Commission on Accreditation.

IMPORTANT REGISTRATION INFORMATION: VIP subscriber hospitals and non-subscriber hospitals purchasing facility-wide access must first register their facility under Sponsor Registration to receive a promotional code. Once received, the code should be shared with staff. Each attendee must then return to this event page and register individually using the promotional code. Facility registration does not automatically register attendees.
